1. What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. These times allow us to prepare the villa properly between stays so everything is perfect when you arrive.
2. Is early check-in or late check-out available?
Yes, often at no extra charge for our direct guests. Contact us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate your group's schedule.
3. What is your cancellation policy?
For direct bookings, 50% of your payment is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days before arrival. Cancellations made 30 days or more before arrival are fully refundable. Between 14 and 29 days before arrival, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. Less than 14 days before arrival, the full reservation amount is non-refundable. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind.
4. How does the security deposit work?
A pre-authorization of $500 USD is held on your card one day before arrival. It is not charged — simply held as a security measure. The hold is released three days after your departure, provided the property is returned in its original condition.
5. What is the minimum stay?
The minimum stay varies between 2 and 3 nights, depending on the season and how far in advance you book. During peak periods, a 5 to 7-night minimum may apply. The calendar automatically displays the minimum stay required for your selected dates.
6. Are pets allowed?
We love animals, but unfortunately pets are not permitted at Casa Reina Silvia. This policy ensures the comfort and safety of all guests.
7. Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the villa or the casita. We kindly ask guests to smoke outside and away from common areas.
8. Are parties or events permitted?
Casa Reina Silvia is a private residence in a quiet gated community. Out of respect for our neighbours, parties and events are not permitted. The property is designed for families and small groups seeking a relaxed, private retreat.
9. Can you arrange airport transportation?
Yes. We can arrange a private airport shuttle from Liberia International Airport directly to the villa. Contact us when booking and we will take care of the details.
10. Is mid-stay cleaning included?
For stays of 7 nights or more, one mid-stay clean is included. For shorter stays, mid-stay cleaning is available as a paid add-on. Additional cleaning services can be arranged upon request at any time during your stay.
11. Is the casita completely separate from the main house?
Yes. The Casita is a fully independent structure with its own private entrance, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and plunge pool. It shares the property grounds but offers complete privacy from the main house — ideal for families traveling with grandparents, teenagers, or anyone who wants their own space.
12. What is included in the kitchen?
Both the main house kitchen and the Casita kitchenette are fully equipped with everything you need to cook and gather as a family. The main kitchen features quartz countertops, a hidden dishwasher, and comes stocked with essential spices, cooking oil, and locally sourced Costa Rican coffee. A coffee maker is included.
13. Is the property suitable for young children?
Absolutely. Casa Reina Silvia is family-friendly and we welcome guests of all ages. A crib is available upon request. Please note that the property has two pools, so parental supervision is required at all times around the water.
14. How far is the beach?
Playa Tamarindo and the centre of town are a 10 to 15 minute walk from the property (1.2km). The famous Thursday night market is just a 3 minute walk away. If you prefer, we can also arrange a golf cart for the duration of your stay.
